Jan Evans
resides in Green Valley, Arizona. Through her art, "I wish" becomes "I am." A momentary mood, a reoccurring memory of places visited, a thought of those who came before us: all these things become subjects for her land-form paintings and drawings. She honors the natural world and comments on man's relationships to it. Her art is based on observation, reverence and re-creation of places she has visited, both real and imaginary. She abstracts forms and fabrics of the earth, it's surfaces and atmospheres. Enduring time, man in nature and man versus nature are all themes pervading her art.
