Although interpretive
of actual subjects, R.C. aspires to have fun with his subject matter. His work reflects a keen sense of contrasts, layers, dimension and depth which lends a sense of realism to the dream-like, surreal abstraction inherent to the perspective of his work.
His subjects range from human and animal forms to various landscapes which have seduced his attentions. His preferred medium is acrylic paint. His canvases generally range from 12" x 16" to 24" x 26" although commissioned works have been much larger.
R.C. received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of Design at Northern Illinois University. Upon graduation he relocated to Albuquerque, NM where he earned a Master of Architecture degree from the University of New Mexico. Since that time he has pursued his architecture career while working for the Army at the White Sand's Missile Range. He currently resides in Las Cruces, NM with his wife, Lara.
